.

Citing the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics has been awarded to the international CMS Collaboration at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Dr. Shirin Chenarani, faculty member of the Department of Energy Engineering and Physics at MUST, is among the distinguished researchers contributing to this internationally recognized collaboration.

The prestigious award recognizes the CMS Collaboration's outstanding contributions to precision measurements of the Higgs boson, the discovery of new strongly interacting particles, and the study of rare physical processes, all of which have significantly advanced the understanding of the fundamental structure of matter at the smallest scales.

Researchers from the School of Particles and Accelerators at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM), as an active member of the CMS Collaboration, are among the recipients of this international honor. The achievement reflects years of scientific, technical, and operational contributions by the CMS research team at one of the world's most advanced scientific research facilities.

University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. Shirin Chenarani on this distinguished international achievement and wishes her continued success in her scientific and research endeavors.
