According to the Public Relations Office of University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran, the first stage of the 1404 National University Entrance Exam (Konkur) was held on Thursday and Friday, 11–12 Ordibehesht 1404 (May 1–2, 2025), at the university with the participation of 2,144 candidates across five exam groups: Mathematics, Experimental Sciences, Humanities, Art, and Foreign Languages.
Dr. Mohammad Reza Sarmasti Emami, Vice Chancellor for Education and Research, highlighted the new exam procedures, particularly for applicants to the Farhangian University (898 candidates), and reported the gender distribution of candidates in eastern Mazandaran as 1,328 women and 816 men. He added that despite the absence of 204 candidates across all groups, the Experimental Sciences group had the highest number of participants, while the Art group had the fewest.
The official representative of the National Organization for Educational Testing at the university noted that the error-correction booth had been active since the issuance of the exam cards, allowing candidates to correct any discrepancies in their registration information. He further stated that over 110 personnel—including supervisors, coordinators, proctors, verification staff, service and facility staff, and audio-visual units—alongside 32 security staff, participated in administering the exam.
Dr. Sarmasti Emami emphasized that, as in previous years, the first stage of the 1404 National Entrance Exam was conducted smoothly and in an orderly environment, with the cooperation of various executive bodies, including the Department of Education, the Law Enforcement Force, Traffic Police, Emergency Services, and the Red Crescent Society.
