The Orientation Ceremony for newly admitted students was held on November 17, 2025 (26 Aban 1404) at the Shaheed Ayatollah Raisi Assembly Hall. Organized by the Office of Student and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the university’s student scientific associations, the event was attended by local officials, university administrators, faculty members, staff, and a large number of newly admitted students.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmadreza Rabbani, President of the University, congratulated the new students on the beginning of their academic journey and described this stage as a significant milestone in their lives. He emphasized the university’s mission to educate competent, innovative, and socially responsible professionals capable of contributing to the country’s future. Referring to the importance of knowledge in Islamic teachings, Dr. Rabbani encouraged students to pursue academic excellence with determination, noting that scientific progress is a key factor in national development. He also stressed that knowledge must be accompanied by ethics, spirituality, and cultural identity, urging students to make thoughtful use of digital media while strengthening their moral and intellectual foundations.

Highlighting the university’s academic capacity, Dr. Rabbani noted that Mazandaran University of Science and Technology currently enrolls more than 3,000 students, offering 10 undergraduate programs, 22 master's specializations, and 2 doctoral programs, supported by over 95 faculty members, including several scholars ranked among the world’s top 1% and 2% most-cited researchers. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting students’ academic, cultural, and personal development.

During the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam Heydari, Representative of the Supreme Leader at the University, congratulated students and their families on the beginning of the academic year. He described the university as students’ “second home” and emphasized that higher education should foster scientific excellence, ethical values, social responsibility, and spiritual growth. He encouraged students to pursue knowledge with perseverance, clear goals, faith, and a spirit of cooperation, emphasizing that scientific achievement is most meaningful when combined with moral values.

The ceremony also featured a keynote address by Eng. Erfan Seif, a distinguished entrepreneur, CEO of Kalan Steel Industries Complex, and an alumnus of the university. Sharing his personal journey from student life to entrepreneurship, he highlighted the importance of perseverance, strategic planning, resilience, and continuous learning. He encouraged students to embrace challenges, remain committed to their goals, and believe in their ability to contribute to the country's future.

The program also included the ceremonial entry of the flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the university, motivational speeches by invited guests and student representatives, a student prayer ceremony, live musical performances, and a prize draw for participants.
