Student Day Commemorative Ceremony Held at University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran

A ceremony marking Student Day (16 Azar) was held at the university’s Martyr Ayatollah Raisi Conference Hall. The event was attended by Seyed Amir Hosseini Jou, Deputy Governor of Mazandaran for Political and Security Affairs, Engineer Hamedi, Governor of Behshahr, university administrators, faculty members, students, and staff.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ahmadreza Rabbani, President of univeristy, highlighted the significance of Student Day and emphasized the historic contributions of Iranian students to the country's scientific development, national progress, and major historical events. He noted that the achievements of the academic community have played a vital role in advancing the nation’s scientific capabilities and stressed the importance of preserving scientific growth, strengthening national identity, and supporting higher education against external challenges.
Addressing the ceremony, Seyed Amir Hosseini Jou, Deputy Governor of Mazandaran, underlined the importance of understanding the historical background of Student Day and encouraged students to develop an informed perspective on the past in order to contribute effectively to the country's future. He emphasized the essential role of university students in sustainable development and urged them to make the most of regional opportunities while preparing for their future professional and social responsibilities.
He also praised Mazandaran University of Science and Technology for its academic achievements and its balanced attention to scientific, cultural, and social development, reaffirming the provincial administration’s support for the university’s continued growth.
The ceremony also featured an open question-and-answer session in which representatives of the university’s student organizations and scientific associations raised students’ questions, which were addressed by the Deputy Governor and the Governor of Behshahr.
Additional highlights of the event included live traditional Persian music, a stage performance by a professional illusionist, and the presentation of awards to the university’s outstanding students in the fields of education, research, and cultural activities for the 2025 (1404) academic year.
