The Chemical Engineering Scientific Association organized an educational visit to the Noshahr Waste-to-Energy Plant and the 450 MW Caspian Thermal Power Plant on October 8, 2025 (16 Mehr 1404). The visit aimed to enhance students’ academic knowledge and familiarize them with modern technologies in the fields of energy and environmental engineering.
Accompanied by Dr. Mohammadreza Jamali and Dr. Hassan Abedini, faculty members of the Department of Chemical Engineering, 40 undergraduate students from the Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering programs participated in the visit. Students were introduced to waste collection and preparation processes, waste-to-energy combustion systems, emission control technologies, as well as the structure and operation of thermal power plants and electricity generation through combustion gases and steam cycles.
The visit was organized to strengthen the connection between theoretical education and industrial practice, while enhancing students’ understanding of the role of sustainable technologies in energy resource management.
