According to the Public Relations Office of University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran, Dr. Seyed Mehdi Kia, Head of the Office for Oversight of Construction Projects, announced a significant reduction in electricity consumption following the implementation of a central HVAC system and energy efficiency measures in the university’s administrative building.
Dr. Kia explained that, by constructing the second phase of the administrative building according to energy optimization standards and upgrading the first phase, the installation of a central VRF HVAC system, window insulation, smart entry doors, suspended ceilings to reduce space volume, and replacement of high-consumption lamps resulted in a 50% reduction in electricity usage for the building.
He further highlighted the office’s future plans for energy management and clean energy utilization, noting that supplying electricity to phases one and two of the administrative building through solar panels will be one of the university’s key upcoming initiatives.
